Stolen Priceless Violin Recovered In Windsor

A local man has been reunited with a stolen violin that has been passed down in his family for generations.

WINDSOR, CT—A stolen 18th-century violin has been returned to its rightful owner. NBC Connecticut reported that police have returned the family heirloom to Tim Lawrence.

Lawrence's home was recently burglarized and the violin, which he received from his great grandfather, was among many items that were stolen.

Police received special permission from prosecutors to return Lawrence's violin in time for his cousin's wedding, according to NBC.

How the violin was found has not been revealed.

Police previously announced that they had a suspect in the case. Credit cards stolen from the home were used at a Wethersfield Stop & Shop, a Metro gas station in Windsor, and a Mercury gas station in Hartford.
