Wine & Beer Tasting Will Benefit Windsor Groups

GWFC Windsor Woman's Club Fundraiser for Local Food Banks and Community Charities

The GFWC Windsor Woman’s Club is presenting a Beer & Wine Tasting at Dom's Broad St.Eatery on Fri., Sept. 30 from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Bloom's Discount Liquors is bringing in a selection of California and imported wines from a bold red Pinot Noir to a sweet white Moscato for the tasting. There will also be local beers from the Thomas Hooker Brewery for those who prefer to sample hop beverages rather than grape pressings.

The WWC's Ginny Conroy and Mary Crehan-Vaca are the co-chairs of the event. "There will be plenty to sample plus delicious hors d’oeuvres, and several gift basket raffles,” states Conroy.

Dom’s Chef Jason DiBella concurs by reciting the special menu for the evening: "Rosemary Shrimp Skewers, Meatball Sliders, Quesadilla Triangles, Spanakopita, Prosciutto Wrapped Melon, Tomato Bruschetta, and Shrimp Cocktail.” And for those with a sweet tooth there will be desserts.

At just $25 each, over half of the tickets have been sold for this WWC fundraiser to benefit the Windsor Food Bank, Foodshare and other community charities. WWC member Ann Walsh says, “This is a great date night, or girls night out while the guys are at the UCONN game. And it helps support the community.”

Tickets can be picked up at Dom’s Broad St. Eatery or reserved by calling Ginny Conroy at 860-688-4816 or Mary Crehan-Vaca at 860-683-0347.
