Young Windsor Chef Wins Trip to White House

She won the Connecticut portion of a recipe competition to earn a July trip to Washington and dinner with the first lady.

WINDSOR, CT - A young student from Windsor will be heading for the White House soon - July 15, to be exact, when she and future chefs from around the country will be guests of First Lady Michelle Obama at a "Kids State Dinner."

Kalaya Moody, 11, earned the trip by winning the Connecticut portion of a recipe competition entitled "Healthy Lunchtime Challenge," Fox61 reported.

She will travel to Washington with her mom, Beverly.
