East Windsor, CT - A pair of cars were burglarized in the Prospect Hill neighborhood Tuesday morning, continuing a series of early-morning auto burglaries that have plagued the town and surrounding communities in recent weeks.

On its Facebook page, the East Windsor Police Department reported a homeowner on Prospect Hill Drive reported an individual going through his vehicle around 5 a.m. The resident yelled at the suspect from his door step and threw his coffee mug at him, and the suspect fled.

The witness was able to give a description of the suspect's vehicle and plate number to police, and officers located the vehicle on North Road (Route 140) and attempted to stop it. The suspect fled at a high rate of speed onto Interstate 91 southbound, and the apprehension attempt was terminated due to the risk to the public, police said.
