Crash Closes Segment of Major East Windsor Road

The Thursday night crash involved a car and a utility pole, according to police.

EAST WINDSOR, CT — A portion of Route 5 was closed for numerous hours Thursday night into Friday morning due to a crash which snapped a utility pole.

The crash occurred around 8 p.m. between Thompson Road and South Water Street. One person was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Crews from Eversource and Frontier crews worked to replace the utility pole, and one lane is expected to open in time for the Friday morning commute, allowing for alternating traffic, according to police.
