East Windsor Police Charge Man with Assaulting Elderly Victim

The Broad Brook man was arrested on a warrant Tuesday night.

East Windsor Police have charged a Broad Brook man with assaulting an elderly man last month.

Police arrested Michael Poliquin, 32 of 10B Thistle Way, Broad Brook, on a warrant Tuesday night.

Police said Poliquin’s arrest stems from an incident on Aug. 16 at a local establishment in Broad Brook where he assaulted an elderly male patron. Officers responded to the establishment to find the assailant, later identified as Poliquin, had fled the area.

The victim suffered significant injuries and was transported to the hospital, according to police.

Police also said the suspect has no relation to the Michael Poliquin who is currently employed as a police Lieutenant at the East Windsor Police Department and it is purely a coincidence.

Poliquin was charged with second-degree assault on an elderly person. He was held on a $20,000 surety bond and is scheduled to appear in court in Enfield on Wednesday.
