East Windsor Police Take Massachusetts Fugitive Into Custody
The man, who told police he was on the run for about a year, was arrested at the Rodeway Inn.
East Windsor Police took a Massachusetts fugitive, who told officers he had been on the run for about a year, into custody at the Rodeway Inn on Wednesday.
East Windsor Police were notified by the Springfield, Mass. Police Department that a fugitive from justice may be staying at the Rodeway Inn, a hotel located at 161 Bridge Street.
Police were also warned that the man may also be in possession of a .22 caliber handgun.

Shamall Smith, 30, of Indian Orchard, Mass., was wanted for violation of his conditions of release, stemming from a sale of cocaine arrest in Springfield. The warrant listed full extradition from all states.
After some surveillance was conducted at the hotel, it was determined that Smith had checked in under an assumed name, according to police.

Officers went to the hotel at approximately 4:30 p.m., located Smith and took him into custody without incident.
Smith was also found to be in possession of 10 grams of cocaine, 8 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. No handgun was found.
Smith told officers that he had been on the run for approximately one year. Smith was detained on a $100,000 bond for the fugitive from justice arrest, $10,000 for the local charges and he will be presented to Enfield Superior Court on Aug. 20.
