Evading 'Muffin Man' Charged in East Windsor

East Windsor Police now know who the "Muffin Man" is and charged him with evading responsibility after striking a utility pole and fleeing.

Well, East Windsor Police now know and were able to track down the operator of a Thomas’ English Muffin box truck that struck a utility pole on North Main Street and left the scene.

Police were called to the scene at about 12:15 p.m. on Friday and officers found the pole snapped in half and utility companies responded.

During the investigation, police discovered the male operator had made a delivery to a local grocery store just prior to the pole collision.

From there, police tracked down the operator at his house.

Police said the man claimed he didn’t realize the extent of the damage that was caused by the collision. He was charged with evading responsibility.

Police said the utility pole is being repaired throughout the evening and North Main Street is down to one lane.
