Man Charged with Choking, Assaulting Woman: East Windsor Police

Police say four children protected the victim after she called 9-1-1 and the man allegedly broke down a bedroom door before officers arrived

A Broad Brook man is accused of punching and choking a woman during a domestic dispute early Wednesday morning.

East Windsor Police responded to the scene and said investigation revealed that Thomas Derosa, 33, of Broad Brook, had pushed a female victim to the ground and punched her in the face.

Derosa then allegedly choked her until she lost consciousness for a moment, according to police.

Police said the victim was able to retreat to a bedroom with four children who were in the home and called 9-1-1.

Derosa broke down the bedroom door prior to police arrival, but the children protected the victim, according to police.

The victim was transported to the hospital by ambulance.

Derosa was arrested on charges of third-degree assault, second-degree strangulation, second-degree criminal mischief and four counts of risk of injury to a minor.
