Road Rage Leads to Robbery in East Windsor: Police

Police say a man was robbed of his phone after taking a photo of a car that had cut him off and was threatened when he went to get it back.

East Windsor Police are investigating a road rage incident that turned physical on Friday night.

At about 5 p.m. on Jan. 30, a man reported to police that he had been cut off by another vehicle and that he followed the suspect vehicle into the Shell gas station parking lot on Bridge Street.

The man allegedly took a picture of the suspect vehicle’s registration plate with his phone. When he did this, the female passenger of the suspect vehicle allegedly approached the man and forcibly took his phone and ran into the gas station, according to police.

The man went into the gas station to get his phone back from the woman. Once inside, the male driver of the suspect vehicle threatened him with a pocket knife and then they left the scene, according to police.

Police are working to locate the involved and are investigating the incident as a robbery among other charges.
