Speeding Car Goes Airborne in East Windsor Crash

Police say the driver lost control and the car ended up 75 feet off the roadway and narrowly missed hitting a utility pole and a guardrail.

A speeding driver lost control of their vehicle and went off-road, narrowly missing a utility pole and a guardrail early Friday morning in East Windsor.

East Windsor Police responded to a crash just past midnight after a Honda Civic traveling east on North Road (Rt.140) at a high rate of speed lost control as it crossed over onto Broad Brook Road.

The Honda went off road and shoulder right in front of 10 Broad Brook Road narrowly missing a utility pole and a guardrail.

The vehicle went airborne and rolled on its roof before it landed right side up approximately 75 feet off the roadway, according to police.

Police said the passenger received minor injuries while the driver did not sustain any injuries. The driver was arrested for reckless driving and has to appear at Enfield Superior Court on Dec. 21.
