Windsor Locks Police Investigating Smash-and-Grab Burglary

The front door window of a Main Street convenience store was smashed in, according to police.

WINDSOR LOCKS, CT - Police are investigating a burglary or attempted burglary at a convenience store on Route 159 last week.

Around 11:29 p.m. on June 7, police responded to a burglar alarm at JJ’s News, in a plaza at 255 Main Street. Upon an officer's arrival, he found a smashed front door window, Capt. Chester DeGray said.

A K-9 unit was called, but was unable to locate anyone, DeGray said.

The store’s video surveillance system captured a hooded individual.  It is unknown if anything was taken from the store, DeGray said.

The incident remains under investigation.
