WINDSOR LOCKS, CT — A 34-year-old woman who was facing charges in connection with a fatal crash on Interstate 91 in October was found dead in her home earlier this week, according to Newington police.

According to a police report, around 1:55 p.m. that day, Gunning was driving a 2016 Volkswagen Tiguan northbound on I-91 near exit 42 in Windsor Locks when she rear-ended a 2003 Ford F-350 operated by Kevin Dutra, 46.
The collision caused Dutra to lose control of his truck, which swerved across the roadway and struck the metal guardrail, where it overturned and came to rest against some trees along the right shoulder. Dutra sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash, the report said.
