Arrest Made in Middlebury Homicide Case
A Middlebury man was found deceased in a pool of blood on Nov. 3. Police arrested a Waterbury man on charges of murder, robbery and assault.

Middlebury Police answered a call on the morning of Tuesday, Nov. 3, and arrived at Tower Road to find an elderly man lying in a pool of blood.
Isidore Ellin, 79, of 41 Tower Rd., died from blunt force trauma to the head, police said.
Through the course of the investigation, Waterbury resident Steven Brockett, of 205 S. Leonard St., #2S, Waterbury, responded to Troop A-Southbury to speak with Western District Major Crime detectives as part of the interview process.

Through the course of the interview process, information was developed which led to Brockett being a suspect in the case, according to state police.
Detectives collected more evidence and information that led to Western District Major Crime applying for and receiving an arrest warrant by the Waterbury Superior Court for 44-year-old Brockett.

An Arrest Made
At approximately 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, Brockett was taken into custody at Troop A- Southbury, where he was processed.
He was then transported to Bridgeport Correctional where he will be held on $750,000 bond, pending his court date.
Brockett was arrested on the following charges:
- Murder
- Robbery in the first degree
- Assault of an elderly person in the first degree
He was issued a Thursday, Nov. 5, court date at Waterbury Superior Court.
