Art Opening and Walk in Torrington Feb. 6

Rossi Studios will be holding an art opening for textile artist Doreen Breen on February 6th from 4-7pm.  Doreen’s hand-knitted original pieces (shrugs, shawls and scarves) will be featured in Rossi Studios during the month of February. Stop in on February 6th, during the monthly Torrington Arts Walk and receive $10 off Doreen’s mixed media scarves. (Normally $60.00)

Doreen Breen is a textile artist, who lives and has a home studio in Thomaston. She continues to learn and share her love for texture, color and patterns, through the creation of wearable art, for women (and some men) of all ages. Her pieces allow one’s inner light (soul) to be expressed through their outer adornments. Her company ‘Soul Threads’ offers unique, one-of-a-kind clothing and accessories, created with natural fibers (some recycled), handcrafted to realize and express the inner light of the wearer. Some distinctive works that will be on display include Nuno felted scarves, collars, wrap skirts and jackets and a felted costume owl mask. Doreen creates all natural fabric clothing utilizing blanks or recycled items that she hand-dyes, discharges, and embellishes.

Through the first Friday Arts Walks, businesses have joined together to offer a delightful experience to share with family and friends. Visit with local artists and arts minded businesses. Venues will be offering debuts of guest artisans, art talks, music, refreshments, and introductions of their newest works, raffles, and SALES!
