Congrats! Nonnewaug High School Ranked #1 Connecticut Secondary School in Plant Science

This is the second year in a row that Plant Science teacher, Eric Birkenberger has been recognized for his efforts.

The Connecticut State Department of Education - Career & Technical Education recognizes Nonnewaug High School as the #1 ranked Connecticut Secondary School in the concentration of Plant Science.

For two consecutive years Eric Birkenberger, Plant Science/Horticulture teacher at Nonnewaug Agriscience & Technology Center accepts a plaque recognizing the outstanding performance of his students.

Every year schools that receive Perkins funding require their students to take a Career and Technical Education (CTE) standardized test in their area of concentration. For 2013 and 2014 Eric Birkenberger’s plant science students scored the best in the state on the Connecticut Statewide CTE Assessment.
