CT Man Dies In Tragic Skid Steer Accident
A man died when he was trapped by a piece of machinery earlier this week.

LITCHFIELD, CT — A Morris man is dead following an accident Monday involving a Caterpillar skid steer, The Republican-American reported. Joseph Bunnell, 35, died when the machine's unsecured hydraulic arm released and pinned him against its chassis in a barn on Bigos Road.
The homeowner found Bunnell, who had been working alone, at 6 p.m. and called 911. Bunnell was taken to an area hospital and was pronounced dead following resuscitation attempts, according to The Republican-American.
Bunnell worked at Arethusa Farm in Litchfield. He grew up in Litchfield and graduated from Litchfield High School in 2003, where he earned accolades as a baseball player.

According to its website, the farm was founded in 1868 by the Webster Family and is still going strong today. The farm has 300 cows and operates as a dairy farm. The current owners also own an award winning restaurant.
