WSO Music Director Leif Bjaland describes the Requiem as “… one of classical music’s peak experiences. The combination of chorus, orchestra and operatic soloists makes Verdi’s Requiem one of the most thrilling and memorable in the whole symphonic repertoire.” CCS/NJCS director Eric Knapp agrees: “This is a work of earth-shaking intensity! It is always contemporary in that it speaks to human-kind in any time period. The overpowering beauty of Verdi’s Requiem shows the profound depth that great art is capable of.”
