Battlefields of the Pequot War: A Project of the Mashantucket Pequot Museum and Research Center

Dr. Kevin McBride, the Director of Research at the Mashantucket Pequot Museum and Research Center and Associate Professor of Anthropology at the University of Connecticut, and the members of the Pequot War research team will unveil results from recent archaeological excavations from the Battle at Mystic Fort and the role of western Connecticut during the Pequot War of 1637-1638. Learn how recovered battle-related artifacts combined with historical accounts of the battle give an unprecedented view of the conflict, the first time New England Natives experienced the European style of total war.

Project Director Dr. Kevin McBride is an Associate Professor of Anthropology at the University of Connecticut and the Director of Research at the Mashantucket Pequot Museum and Research Center.

David J. Naumec is Senior Researcher with the Battlefields of the Pequot War project. He is doctoral candidate at Clark University in Worcester, Mass.
