The Women’s Fellowship of the First Congregational Church, 40 DeForest Street, Watertown, will hold their annual Rummage Sale on Friday, May 1st from 2 – 7 PM and the $5 Bag Sale on Saturday, May 2nd from 9 – 11 AM. Clothing for all ages, books, kitchenware, toys, accessories and assorted odds and ends will be available for purchase at very reasonable prices. Cash and credit cards are accepted. The money raised will help support local charitable organizations.

Second Company Governor's Horse Guard Grounds

Saddle up and join the Second Company Governor's Horse Guard for a beautiful spring ride through scenic trails. This rain or shine equestrian event invites you to bring your horses and enjoy a morning of riding starting from their historic grounds.
Pre-registration is open now and ends on May 1. Suggested pre-event donation is $45.00, with same-day registration of $55.00. Spirituals, hymns, hollers and work songs were sung either to express a yearning for a better life or gratitude for already having one. Guitarist Walter Parks, longtime sideman to Woodstock legend Richie Havens, is fascinated by this historical music’s universal applicability and power. While he uses this repertoire to entertain, he also hopes to make a case for embracing the inescapable togetherness of races and cultures by performing this music in concert with his new group, The Unlawful Assembly.
