Free Art Show to be Held at Pomperaug High School

The art show will be held on Friday, April 24.

Last fall, Sarah Grousseau sat at Turtle Pond in Middlebury watching her son, Maxime of Middlebury Elementary School, do “en plein aire” painting with his Morning Art classmates, under the guidance of MES art teacher Kathy Miller. (“En plein air” can describes activities where a person partakes in an outdoor environment.)

The students’ paintings will be featured among many pieces of art work at the 27th Annual Region 15 Art Show which will be held on Friday, April 24 (6:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.) and Saturday, April 25 (10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.) in the Pomperaug High School Gymnasium and PHS All Purpose Room.

The event is FREE and open to the public. The art show is an exciting way to view the progression of students’ artistic growth and to see the wide range of learning that students experience within the Region 15 Art Department.

“On behalf of the Region 15 Art Department, I welcome and encourage all parents, students, and members of the community to attend the Art Show. Literally thousands of pieces of student work will be on display and it is a fun learning experience for all who attend,” said Jane Sarjeant, Region 15 fine arts director.
