Interactive Fall Foliage Map Available Online

The state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection offers the map for leaf peepers.

For the first time ever, a colorful gradient map provides up-to-the minute data on fall foliage throughout the state, the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection stated in a press release.

The estimated peak of fall foliage is between Friday, Oct. 7 and Sunday, Nov. 13, the DEEP reported.

"Leaf peeping in Connecticut is an annual tradition and we draw visitors from all over the region and beyond," said DEEP Commissioner Daniel C. Esty. "Each year visitors and residents alike find beauty and a cacophony of color that represents autumn and reminds them how beautiful our state is this time of year. Now our website makes it easier than ever to determine when and where the leaves are changing color and where to view them."
