Long Meadow Elementary School Earns Funds to Purchase Smart Boards
Through Stop & Shop's A+ School Rewards Program, Long Meadow Elementary School received $7,000 to purchase smart boards.

Thanks to Stop & Shop’s A+ School Rewards program, earned more than $7,000 for the purchasing of additional smart boards so that all classrooms will have one.
In its third year, Stop & Shop’s A+ School Rewards program generated more than $450,000 for schools in the state of Connecticut, according to a press release from Stop & Shop. The program allows customers to raise money for schools of their choice with each shopping visit using a registered Stop & Shop card.
This year, more than 550 schools in Connecticut will benefit from the $450,000 earned to put forth to scholarships, technology, sports equipment, field trips and other educational needs.

Other top earning schools in Connecticut included:
- East Hampton High School, East Hampton, CT: More than $6,500
- Emma Heart Willard School, Berlin, CT: More than $4,500
- Buttonball Lane School, Glastonbury, CT: More than $4,400
- Roaring Brook Elementary School, Avon, CT: More than $1,110
In total, Stop & Shop is donating $2.5 million to more than 2,200 public and private schools for the 2011-2012 school year. Since the program launched in 2009, more than $2 million has been donated to local schools through participating states such as Connecticut.
“Stop & Shop is thrilled to continue our community support through the A+ School Rewards program this year,” said Mark McGowan, president, Stop & Shop New England Division. “As school budgets can be tight, A+ School Rewards enables parents and customers to easily help their schools, simply by doing what they normally do: shop for groceries.”
About A+ School Rewards
Stop & Shop’s A+ School Rewards program allows local schools to earn cash for scholarships, technology, sports equipment, field trips and other educational needs. Each shopping visit when customers designate the school(s) of their choice, A+ School Rewards points accrue with purchases made using their Stop & Shop card. This year’s program ran from October 7, 2011 through March 29, 2012.
