Middlebury Artists participate in historic Match and Greet

ShawnaLee Kwashnak and Sam D'Ambruoso, of Middlebury, participated in CSOPA's Match and Greet with Stepping Stones Museum.

The Connecticut Society of Portrait Artists (CSOPA), in cooperation with the Stepping Stones Museum for Children and the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum in Norwalk, CT., held a showcase of 22 professional Portrait Artists Saturday, November 15th, 2014.

Middlebury artists, Sam D’Ambruoso & ShawnaLee Kwashnak , participated in CSOPA’s Match & Greet.

A Match & Greet is a unique opportunity that brings professional artists together with patrons. Each participant and artist selected their top 3 picks, and a committee matches the artist with a client. This tradition, without any obligation to purchase, began in ancient Greece and Rome.

Matches will be made this week, and the results will culminate in a historic art show featuring a maximum of twenty new, original portraits of children created exclusively by CSOPA members in May 2015 to be held at the Lockwood Mansions Museum in Norwalk.

The public was invited to meet the participating artists. Children were offered Portrait art lessons during the event.
