Middlebury Man Crashes Audi into Home in Naugatuck

The man admitted to distracted driving during the incident that occurred Friday.

A Middlebury man crashed his car into a house in Naugatuck on Friday, the Republican-American reports.

Ryan Ferrari, 22, admitted to police that he was looking down at his cellphone when he lost control of his white Audi. The incident occurred at 4:54 p.m. on Meadow Street.

According to the paper, Ferrari was already out of the vehicle when emergency responders arrived.

No injuries were reported at the scene, the paper reports. There was heavy damage to the house, the street signs that Ferrari hit and to his vehicle.

Ferrari was cited with operating a motor vehicle while using an electronic device, failure to operate a motor vehicle with proper insurance and failure to drive on the right. According to the paper, Ferrari has two previous pending motor vehicle cases against him and a criminal case. He was also convicted of sixth-degree larceny and third-degree criminal mischief from a case in Naugatuck in 2009

According to My Citizen News, Ferrari was charged in April with illegal possession of a narcotic, failure to drive in the proper lane, improper hand signalling and driving under the influence.
