No Duplication of Efforts by Middlebury Police in Allegations Against Former Fire Chief

The Middlebury police has handed over all complaints to the FBI.

Middlebury police is not conducting its own investigation of the claims made against former Middlebury Volunteer Fire Department chief Paul Perrotti, the Republican-American reports.

Former fire chief Paul Perrotti was indicted by the FBI with three counts of theft last week. Perrotti is accused of embezzling Middlebury Volunteer Fire Department funds to pay for unauthorized personal expenses as well as unauthorized expenses associated with Paul Perrotti Electric, LLC, a firm Perrotti has operated since 2010.

Police Chief James Viadero told the paper there would be no duplication of efforts and all complaints have been handed to the FBI.
