Officials Elect New Middlebury Fire Chief
The new chief was elected Sunday night after former chief Paul Perrotti was arrested.

Former Deputy Chief Anthony Bruno was elected as the new Middlebury Fire Chief Sunday evening, WFSB reports.
Former fire chief Paul Perrotti was indicted by the FBI with three counts of theft last week. Perrotti is accused of embezzling Middlebury Volunteer Fire Department funds to pay for unauthorized personal expenses as well as unauthorized expenses associated with Paul Perrotti Electric, LLC, a firm Perrotti has operated since 2010.
Perrotti had been chief of the Middlebury Volunteer Fire Department since 1997.

Bruno, who had been serving as interim chief since last week, told WFSB the actions of one aren’t a reflection of the department as a whole.
Perrotti has pled not guilty to all charges.
