“"We've only been open a few months and it's amazing to see how many people are excited to try our moonshine," von Gootkin said in a statement, noting that a bottle of Onyx Moonshine will be given to performers and presenters on the night of the ceremony. "We're extremely proud that a Connecticut product has been selected and that we'll have an opportunity to show America what authentic moonshine with an ultra premium twist tastes like."
Onyx Moonshine is distilled and bottled in small batches . The co-founders said it is made from a secret recipe of mixed grains and freshly drawn Connecticut spring water and is the first moonshine to be legally made in Connecticut since prohibition.

"Many people don't know that Connecticut and New England have a rich history of active moonshiners and speakeasies operating during Prohibition," Kowalczyk said in a statement. "Connecticut did not want prohibition. This is a story that has never been told up north and that's what we're trying to do by bringing moonshine back."
The Grammy Awards will air live on CBS at 8 p.m. Sunday, February 12.
