Pomperaug Region 15 Schools Calendar 2015-16

You may be thinking about how many more days you can go to the beach, but the first day of school is just around the corner. With that in mind, here are important dates for the 2015-16 school year in the Pomperaug Region 15 School District.

First day of school: Sept. 1

Labor Day (school closed): Sept. 7

Rosh Hashanah (school closed): Sept. 14

Professional development (early release): Sept. 22

Yom Kippur (school closed): Sept. 23

Professional Development (early release date): October 9

Columbus Day (school closed): October 12

November 25: (early dismissal)

Thanksgiving (school closed): Nov. 26-27

Inservice (school closed): Dec. 4

Winter break: Dec. 24-Jan. 3 (school resumes Jan. 4)

Inservice (school closed for students): Jan. 18

Professional Development (early release date): Feb. 11

Presidents Day/ Winter Break (school closed): Feb. 12, Feb. 15

Professional Development Day (half-day): March 2

Good Friday (school closed): March 25

Spring Break: April 11-15

Professional Development (early release): May 11

Memorial Day (school closed): May 30

June 6 (no school students)

Last day of school: June 13

Note: Ten days could be added to the school year for weather before days are taken away from April vacation.
