Portrait Winner Announced! Art Show @ Silas Bronson Library
One lucky library patron won a charcoal portrait by ShawnaLee during the demonstration held at the library.

Congratulations to Kelvin Mizhquiri of Waterbury
for winning a portrait from artist, ShawnaLee Kwashnak! Kelvin
Mizhquiri, an art student, volunteered to be the subject for a Charcoal
portrait demonstration that occurred on August 10th in the meeting
room. Kelvin is 15 and has just been accepted into the Waterbury Arts
Magnet School for his Sophomore year!
"Quiet Moments: Portraits of Pets and People" by ShawnaLee Kwashnak will be on view in the gallery through August 31st 2016.
ShawnaLee Kwashnak, a lifelong artist, studied art at
Western Connecticut State University and continues to share her love and
joy of art with others as an artist and instructor.
Portraits of dogs, cats, children, landscapes, and homes are frequently
commissioned from her in a variety of artist's media. She has won
numerous awards from the Draft Horse Classic Art Show, Watertown Art
League, the Oxford Commission for the Arts, etc.. She is an active
Partner with the Danbury Animal Welfare Society and a board member of
the Ct Society of Portrait Artists, and team member of the Nutmeg
Collective.
The Silas Bronson Library provides free
public access in order to foster ideas, to promote education, to
disseminate general information and to make a positive contribution to
the cultural heritage of Waterbury and its environs, serving as the
focal point for the enrichment of the community.
