Based on Lousia May Alcott’s classic 1869 semi-autobiographical novel, it focuses on the four March sisters — brassy, tomboy-like, aspiring writer Jo, romantic Meg, pretentious Amy, and kind-hearted Beth — and their beloved Marmee, at home in Concord, Massachusetts while the family patriarch is away serving as a Union Army chaplain during the Civil War. Intercut with the vignettes in which their lives unfold are several recreations of the melodramatic short stories Jo writes in her attic studio.

Brought together under the leadership of the PHS music and theatre department staff (Theatre Director Paul E. Doniger; Voice Director Linda Hughes; and Orchestra Director John Tzetzo), with choreography by PHS senior Brianna Velky under the direction of Mrs. Nicole Cote, this moving American classic boasts a cast, crew, and orchestra of some 80 PHS students.

Playing the titled women - the March sisters - are Miss Velky as Jo, Kathleen Stango as Meg, Lauren Stango as Amy, and Nokomis Leaman-Logsdon as Beth. Their mother Marmee will be portrayed by Savannah Moore and Aunt March by Hallie Tepperman. The two main men in the story are Theodore “Laurie” Lawrence, played by Cameron Slater, and Professor Bhaer, played by Thomas Marinelli. The crew is headed up by Meghan McCloghry (Assistant Director) and D’Artagnan Mayes (Stage Manager), with the Vintage Costumes of Gloria Von Oy being managed by the costume department under the leadership of junior Sophie Stanko.

Other cast members include Justin Callanan, Ben Berger, Samantha Torino, Cara Lomaro, Marissa Proulx, Jacob Rogotzke, Daniel Koobatian, Joelle LoRusso, Cara Connors, Arianna Donofrio, Rebekah Kennedy, Jamie Leo, Emily Lind, Shefkije Dani, Siobhan Flanagan, Ryan DeAngelis, Nicole Torino, and Jackie Herold.
