Quassy Seeks Name For New Ride From Its Fan Base

has one question for its fans: "what do you call six spinning tea cups on a revolving platform?"

The amusement park is in need of a name for its new family attraction.

A "Name The Tea Cup Ride" contest will be launched Monday, Jan. 2, 2012, and will be administered through Quassy's website.

"Reaching out to our loyal customers is the ideal avenue as we search for a name for our new ride," said George Frantzis, a park owner. "This will be a great family attraction and we’re confident that we’ll receive some fantastic submissions to consider."

Members of Quassy’s Kid Club will be eligible to enter the contest. To become a member, simply log on to www.quassy.com and click on the "Sign Up Now, E-News, Kids Club" icon. After entering a valid e-mail address, check the Kids Club box.

Electronic submissions will be accepted through the Kids Club starting in early January with the park’s management voting on the names. The winner will receive a family of four 2012 season pass to Quassy. One entry per Quassy Kids Club member will be accepted.

The new ride is currently being built by Italian ride manufacturer Zamperla. Six four-person spinning cups will be attached to a revolving platform to provide an interactive and exciting experience for youngsters and adults. The attraction will be delivered in the spring as Quassy prepares for its 104^th season of operation.

Quassy Amusement Park features more than two dozen rides and attractions, including the award-winning Wooden Warrior roller coaster.

Saturation Station is the facility’s water park adjacent to Quassy Beach. The park also has a redemption arcade, restaurant, games and live entertainment.
