Region 14 Announces Delay for Thursday, Jan. 8

Region 14 will have a two-hour delay on Thursday, Jan. 8, according to Jeff Turner. There will be no AM STAR preschool.

The weather outside is so frightful that the National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook and a wind chill advisory beginning at 7 p.m. tonight and running through 8 a.m. Thursday.

• Tonight, Jan. 7: A slight chance of snow showers before 7 p.m. Mostly clear, with a low around 0. Wind chill values as low as -17. Northwest wind 13 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

• Thursday, Jan. 8: Sunny, with a high near 21. Wind chill values as low as -15. Southwest wind 8 to 11 mph.

• Thursday Night: A chance of snow showers after 1 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 16. Southwest wind 8 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

• Friday, Jan. 9: A chance of snow showers before 1 p.m. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 31. Southwest wind 13 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
