UPDATE: Region 14 Budget Comes Before Voters at Second Referendum [POLL]
The Region 14 budget was defeated once and voters have another opportunity to weigh in with their support or dissent.
Voter turnout as of noon today was 7.3 percent. Of the 6,554 eligible voters on the list, 481 people voted.

Since voters rejected the first , the Region 14 Board of Education proposed a budget that is $387,748 less than the initial proposal.
The budget that failed at the May 8 referendum, at $31,205,513, featured a 3.17 percent increase or $959,484, over the 2011-12 budget of $30,246,029.

The new Region 14 budget before voters today — Wednesday, June 6 — is at $30,817,765 and features a $571,736 increase, or 1.89 percent, over the 2011-12 budget of $30,246,029.
"I hope every registered voter exercises his or her civic responsibility and votes in tomorrow’s referendum," said Region 14 Superintendent Jody Goeler in an e-mailed statement to Woodbury-Middlebury Patch.
