Region 15 Schools Budget Proposal Increasing by 2.5 Percent Next Year

Region 15 Superintendent of Schools Regina L. Botsford is proposing a $65.3 million budget for fiscal 2015-16, which increases spending by 2.5 percent, reports Bill Bittar, of the Republican-American.

Parents support the budget request, Bittar writes, while all five Southbury school board members also support the proposal.

But 2 out 3 Middlebury school board members want to see further reductions to the superintendent’s proposal, Bittar reports.

A public hearing on the budget will be held on April 6 and Middlebury and Southbury residents will vote on the budget at a referendum on May 6.
