Home is Where the Art Is: Local Students Participate in Celebration of Young Photographers at Arethusa Farm
Each submission of art expressed a child's unique interpretation on the theme of "home."

Talented young photographers from northwest Connecticut area will be displaying their work at the first annual Celebration of Young Photographers, taking place from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at Arethusa Farm, 556 South Plains Rd., Litchfield.
Ten Region 15 students are among those who have submitted their photography: Megan Cascella, Kimberly Didsbury, Chelsey Donato, Nicole Mulready, Julianna Palumbo, Christopher Russo, Elena Sabol, Christian Santa Maria, Bridget Skinski and Matt Witek.
The After School Arts Program, or ASAP, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing artistic and cultural opportunities for children and adults, established this project to give young photographers a chance to explore their creative potential and be recognized for their talent. The celebration event is sponsored by Union Savings Bank and Shred-it.
Juried by a panel of esteemed photographers and art collectors, the selection of photographs by students from grades three through 12 reveals a breadth of talent and perspective.

"Home can mean a lot of different things," said JoAnne Torti, ASAP Executive Director. "We offer this opportunity as a way of expressing one’s artistic vision through photography, which we hope will stimulate new ideas and provide a chance to have some fun."
The works were printed and framed the work for the exhibit. The photographs will be for sale, with proceeds benefiting ASAP’s arts programs for children.
The public is invited to stop by to view the photography and enjoy cheeses and ice cream from Arethusa Farm’s creamery.
