Second Region 14 Referendum Held Today

Newest budget calls for a 1.95% increase from the previous year.

A reduced budget is set for referendum in Region 14 today. 

Earlier this month an original referendum of $30,670,780, a 3.188% increase from the previous year, was defeated by a vote of 1,289 to 1,036.

The new referendum, listed at $30.3 million, is a 1.95% increase from the previous year.

In the first referendum, Bethlehem voters favored the budget, 291-272, but Woodbury turned out against it, 745-1,017.

The original budget was the fourth draft before it went to referendum. The initial proposal was a 7.17% increase, the second was 4.77 and the third was 3.72.
