Several Snow Threats Coming Up, Brutal Cold Hangs on in Woodbury, Middlebury
When will this cold snap end and when will snow arrive again in the area?
Written By Brian McCready (Patch Staff)
Well, the good news is the worst of the brutal cold is behind us, as morning lows factoring in the wind chill were 20 below early Thursday.
Today warms up to a seemingly balmy 21 for the shoreline and just 15 degrees for inland communities. With the wind chill, it will still feel like zero to 14 below today. Please stay warm, and keep your pets inside!

Our first chance of snow begins between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m. early Friday and between one to two inches of snow is expected before noon. This means there is a chance there could be school delays in the morning, and a slippery commute into work.

Temperatures on the coastline will finally reach above freezing and hit 33 degrees. But communities inland will struggle to hit the mid-20s on Friday.
Friday night temperatures will plunge to between 11-15 degrees statewide and the wind chill will make it feel like temperatures are between 5-10 degrees.
On Saturday, it will be sunny, but the cold returns with just a high of 24, and at night the temperature drops to between 8-15 degrees.
Monday will feel like a heatwave as temperatures could hit 35 and it will be cloudy, but that sets up a chance for accumulating snow on Monday night, all day Tuesday, and possibly a mix of snow and rain on Wednesday.
Patch will continue to provide updates of this potential major weather event for early next week.
