Students Celebrate Read Across America Day in Region 15
PHS Interact Club read to students in celebration of Dr. Seuss' birthday.
The Pomperaug High School Interact Club celebrated National Education Association's Read Across America Day by reading Dr. Seuss books to students across the district. Theodor Seuss Geisel's birthday, March 2, has been adopted as the annual date for National Read Across America Day, an initiative on reading created by the National Education Association.
The students read books such as The Cat in the Hat and Green Eggs and Ham to children in classrooms at Pomperaug and Middlebury Elementary Schools.

“Having the PHS Interact Club participate in Read Across America/Dr. Seuss' Birthday literacy project is one of the initiatives of the Tribury Rotary Club,” said Lois DeGregory, Interact Club advisor. “Not only did all of the students have a wonderful time, this was truly a great collaboration of young and old which also supported Region 15 curriculum goals.”
