Lou Williams of Woodbury's said that carnations are second-in-line for most popular Valentine's Day flower. He said people typically request red, pink and white carnations.

Williams said he has seen an increasing trend of assorted wildflower-like bouquets, with tulips, freesia and irises. Balloon bouquets and chocolate are still strong contenders as gifts.
