Woodbury Library Hosting College Planning Workshop

It's that time of year, when thoughts turn to college preparations.

 

High school students and their families are invited to make sense of the college enrollment process with Mark Danaher, NCC, MA, a Career Counselor/Educator for Manchester High School in Manchester, Connecticut.

The college planning workshop for high school students and their families will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, at the .

Danaher was named District Teacher of the Year in 2006-07 and named a finalist for Connecticut Teacher of Year in 2007.

For the past 18 years, he worked with students and parents, helping students find the their career paths and college choices. He founded High School and Beyond seven years ago to share his knowledge and expertise in the college, career development and educational technology fields.

The interactive workshop stresses the steps of the college process, and helps get the participants started on the right road to find the right colleges to fit their needs.

Each student and parent will receive a college planning workbook and resources, along will questions to complete as a family.

The program is free and open to area students and their families. Those interested in attending or who need additional information may call the library at 203-263-3502.
