Woodbury Lions Club Receives Permit For 33rd Annual Car Show
Car show attracts over 400 cars from around Northeast

On Tuesday the Woodbury Lions Club was granted a permit by the Woodbury Planning Commission to hold their 33rd Annual Antique Car Show at Hollow Park on June 5. This annual event, one of the three major fundraisers the club holds each year, attracts over 400 show cars from the Northeast for judging in over thirty categories, with awards given out to the top cars in each class.
A family-oriented day of fun, the Woodbury Lions Club Antique Car show has been voted the state’s #1 car show by the readers of Connecticut Cruise News magazine. The event also features displays by local car dealerships, a vendor court and a food tent, serving hot dogs, hamburgers, popcorn and ice cream during the event. A DJ plays “cruise music” all day.
The Woodbury Lions Club, celebrating its 75th year, is the local chapter of Lions Clubs International. With 45,000 individual clubs in over 200 countries, the Lions Clubs International is dedicated to providing service to the communities in which they have chapters and to give aid to those in need.
The Woodbury Lions Club donates an average of over $20,000 annually back to the community in the form of scholarships to local students and in direct aid to community groups and sight and hearing-related institutions.
The Woodbury Lions Club is responsible for the flags lining Main Street during the summer, and the luminaries lining the same street on Christmas Eve. Along with the car show, the Woodbury Lions Club also sponsors a Haunted Hay Ride at Halloween and a Duck Race in September.
