Woodstock Fair 2016 Details

This year's event includes a headlining performance by pop star Rachel Platten, who made "The Fight Song" a No. 1 hit last year.

One of the hottest new pop acts in the country will headline the Main Stage entertainment for the 156th annual Woodstock Fair in South Woodstock, CT on Labor Day weekend.

Rachel Platten, who made “The Fight Song” a No. 1 hit last year, will perform on Sunday, Sept. 4 at 8 p.m. Platten is a native New Englander who grew up just outside Boston in Newton Center, Mass.

In addition to “Fight Song,” Platten has recently added another top 40 hit in “Stand By You”. Opening for Platten will be Nashville singer and songwriter, Maggie Rose.

Country music fans will be treated to the sounds of Craig Morgan on Monday, Sept. 5 at 4 p.m. Morgan has 17
songs that have been on Billboard’s country charts including “That’s What I Love About Sunday” which made
it all the way to No. 1. Other top 10 hits for Morgan include “Almost Home,” “Redneck Yacht Club,” “Little
Bit of Life,” “International Harvester,” “Love Remembers” and “Bonfire”.

A Woodstock Fair favorite returns on Saturday, Sept. 3 when Peter Noone of Herman’s Hermits takes to the
stage for an 8 p.m. show. A consummate entertainer, Noone and his band mates will perform their 14 gold
singles including such favorites as “There’s a Kind of Hush,” “Mrs. Brown You’ve Got a Lovely Daughter,”
and “I’m Henry the Eighth I Am.”

Opening for Noone will the twin sons of Ricky Nelson, Matthew and Gunnar. The two were known as Nelson in the 1990’s and produced a double-platinum album “After the Rain” which included the No. 1 hit, “(Can’t Live Without Your) Love and Affection”. The Nelsons will also perform a tribute to their late father by playing many of his vintage hits including “Garden Party” and “Hello Mary Lou”.

The Woodstock Fair welcomes Street Beat to the Main Stage on Friday, Sept. 2 at 8 p.m. Street Beat is a
kinetic, maximum energy explosion of urban rhythm and dance, utilizing junk, household items and found
objects for drums and percussion and featuring the pinnacle of modern “street” choreography. Opening for
Street Beat will be Svet, an electro, hip-hop violinist who recently appeared on “America’s Got Talent”.

The zany antics of physical comedian Kenny Ahern can be seen all four days on the Main Stage. Local acts
Cold Train, the Jay Dempsey Band and Billy Pilgrim will also perform and the Tri-State Car Cruisers will also
make an appearance.

The Woodstock Fair continues to be one of the best entertainment values going, with all shows included with
paid admission to the Fair. Admission to the fair is $12 for adults, $8 for senior citizens and children 10 years
