Equipment failure caused power outage for 1,371 people in Bethany Beach area (coasttv.com) — More than 1,300 Delmarva Power customers in Bethany Beach and South Bethany lost electricity Thursday morning when corroded overhead equipment failed and a wire came down. Power was restored by 9:53 a.m., but the outage briefly knocked out traffic lights, bringing DelDOT and Millville firefighters in to help manage intersections and keep drivers safe.

Roseman discusses new book at Bethany Beach Books (coastalpoint.com) — Bethany Beach book lovers can now find Dave Roseman’s new romantic suspense novel, “Two Dramatic Lives,” on the shelves at Bethany Beach Books. Drawing on his CIA career, Roseman centers the story on a woman navigating loss, secrets, and empowerment, and recently spoke with a local paper about how real-world intelligence work and women’s experiences shaped his characters.

3. Warriors have week of appreciation, making memories (coastalpoint.com) — Veterans and their families spent a week in our coastal communities, including a stay in a beach house donated by a Bethany Beach family and a parade that rolled through town in their honor. Operation SEAs the Day’s Warrior Beach Week mixed boat trips, shows, and shared meals, giving wounded veterans and their families a rare chance to relax, connect, and feel appreciated.

4. OVPD chief pens children's book about Lord Baltimore Elementary (coastalpoint.com) — A new children’s book by Ocean View Police Chief Ken McLaughlin is helping incoming Lord Baltimore Elementary students feel more comfortable with school and their school resource officers. Illustrated by a volunteer artist connected through Bethany Beach Books, the free paperback is being shared at Kinder Camp and local libraries to encourage both safety awareness and early literacy.
