First candidate declares for Dover mayoral race (delawarepublic.org) — Dover residents now have their first declared candidate for next year's open mayoral race, local IT entrepreneur and pastor Billy Craig. After 13 years in the city, he says Dover's support for his family inspired him to run, aiming to tackle homelessness, downtown revitalization, budget stability, and crime highlighted in the recent State of the City address.
   

2. DSHA awards nearly $3.5 million for eight large Downtown Development Districts projects (delawarepublic.org) — Dover is set to benefit from a share of $3.43 million in state Downtown Development Districts funding aimed at revitalizing commercial, mixed-use, and residential properties. One Dover project, alongside others in Wilmington, Georgetown, and Smyrna, will leverage significant private investment to support affordable housing, small businesses, community improvements, and new jobs in town.
   

3. DBT40 Honoree: Kate Huffman (delawarebusinesstimes.com) — A Dover native, Kate Huffman is helping energize downtown by boosting attendance at the Biggs Museum of American Art by 60% and tripling its programs. Her work connects Dover residents with arts, schools, and local partners, while she also volunteers with Dover Little League and other community groups, deepening her hometown ties.
   

4. Mary Louve, Delaware's 2026 Senate Candidate, Has Lived the Policies She's Running On (under30ceo.com) — A Delaware U.S. Senate candidate is highlighting everyday cost-of-living struggles, including a trip to Dover for a public hearing on a proposed electric rate hike that could hit working families hard. Drawing on her own experiences with high housing costs and family court battles, she's pushing for childcare access, paid leave, and reforms to the state's family court system.
