• Sussex County Land Trust to celebrate preservation of 88-acre Lewes farm (milfordlive.com) — An 88-acre family farm on Donovans Road in Lewes has been permanently preserved, and neighbors are invited to a public celebration and planning kickoff on Wednesday, Aug. 19. The Sussex County Land Trust and local partners will outline future public access and conservation plans for Ard Na Gréine, one of the last large open-space tracts east of Route 1. 
• Lewes fire police officer pleads not guilty to child solicitation and rape charges (coasttv.com) — A Lewes Fire Department fire police officer has pleaded not guilty in Sussex County Superior Court to multiple charges including attempted rape, child solicitation, and unlawful sexual contact. The longtime volunteer, also affiliated with Beebe Healthcare and Cranston Heights Fire Company, is suspended from both the fire department and his job while the case proceeds.
• Trail detoured as Lewes Five Point road work hits key phase (coasttv.com) — Lewes residents using the Lewes-Georgetown Trail are being detoured near the Nassau Bridge as DelDOT advances a major road project around the Five Points area. New roundabouts at New Road, Nassau Road, and Janice Road, plus a service road to Minos Conaway, aim to ease Route 1 congestion, with some work stretching into coming years.
