• Who are the highest-paid city employees in Newark? Search the data (delawareonline.com) — Newark's city manager topped the municipal payroll in 2025, earning about $207,000 and outpacing the police chief and other high earners among 76 six-figure employees. Newly released payroll data also show average salaried wages near $94,000, modest council and mayoral pay, and longevity bonuses aimed at keeping experienced staff from leaving.
