1. Christa's Coat Drive (iheart.com) — Wilmington residents can donate new or gently used coats and winter accessories at Chase Fieldhouse and Anne Sharp Insurance now through November 8 to support Sunday Breakfast Mission. Additional drop-off sites in Middletown, Dover, and Harrington make it easy to help keep neighbors across Delaware warm this winter.
2. Grand jury indicts 19-year-old in fatal Wilmington shooting (delawareonline.com) — A 19-year-old man has been indicted on first-degree murder and weapons charges in connection with a teen's fatal shooting in Northwest Wilmington near Riverview Cemetery. 3. State Police Arrest Claymont Man and Seek Second Suspect in Wilmington Auto Shop Burglary - Delaware State Police (delaware.gov) — State police say an auto repair shop on Philadelphia Pike in Wilmington was burglarized late last month, with two customer vehicles stolen after suspects smashed a garage door and grabbed keys. One suspect, a 25-year-old Claymont man, was later arrested in Wilmington with a stolen car, while detectives continue to seek a second suspect and ask residents for tips.
4. Delaware hopes to attract out-of-state dollars, in-state work with film tax credit (newsbreak.com) — Filming for the Matt Rife comedy "Unaccompanied Minor" is underway at Pine Box Studios in Wilmington, the first production to tap Delaware's new film and entertainment tax credit. State leaders hope this 30% incentive will attract more film projects, create local jobs across hospitality and production, and eventually build a sustainable film industry that keeps Delaware talent working close to home.
5. 'This means the future for our schools:' Sr. John Elizabeth explains the Federal Scholarship Tax Credit on the latest Catholic Forum (thedialog.org) — A new Catholic Forum episode explains how a proposed Federal Scholarship Tax Credit could affect Catholic, public, private, and independent schools in the Diocese of Wilmington, including Delaware. With governors in Maryland and Delaware deciding by January 1, 2027, listeners are encouraged to learn more and follow the discussion through the diocese's website and podcast platforms.
