Find your place aboard Delaware’s Tall Ship—or ashore! Join the Kalmar Nyckel Foundation for a free Volunteer Open House to meet our crew, learn about crew training, and explore the many ways to get involved.

Volunteer opportunities include sailing crew, ship maintenance, education, special events, visitor services, gardening, and administrative support. Whether you want to learn to sail, become a tour guide, or lend your talents behind the scenes, all hands are welcome!

The two-hour session includes an information presentation, a guided tour of Kalmar Nyckel and our ship maintenance shops, and a chance to explore the Copeland Maritime Center. Please plan to attend the full session.

Can’t make it? Our next Volunteer Open House is Saturday, November 21, 2026, from 10 am–noon.
