CSD High Schoolers Explore Skilled Trade Careers at DEBCC Job Fair
11th & 12th grade students gained hands-on career insights at the Delaware Black Chamber of Commerce Job Fair.
Twenty-two 11th and 12th graders from Christiana High, Glasgow High, and Newark High schools had an exciting opportunity to attend the 3rd Annual Job Fair & Supplier Diversity Event hosted by the Delaware Black Chamber of Commerce (DEBCC) in partnership with Whiting-Turner. This field trip gave them a chance to explore real career options in construction, engineering, and skilled trades, while also practicing important communication and teamwork skills.
At the job fair, students connected directly with employers and industry professionals and learned about career paths in electrical work, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, and more. It was a valuable experience helping students discover future opportunities that match their interests and talents.
These kinds of experiences are made possible through the Work-Based Learning program at Christina, which strives to provide students with as many opportunities as possible to bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry.
